Sharing his experience of attending the national team’s training camp for the first time in a video released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the 27-years-old said a dream came true for him after being selected among 20 players for South Africa Test.
“It was my dream to represent my country. I was over the moon when my name was called among 20 players for the South Africa Test series. Here, I give credit to my mother who supported me throughout. I dedicate this selection to her,” he shared.
Khan recalled his starting days and shared he used to go to his neighbors to watch Pakistan matches. “We didn’t have Tv at our home. I used to go to our neighbors to watch Pakistan matches,” he said.
The off-spinner also shared his experience of attending the first-ever national team’s training. “I saw Saqlain Mushtaq, Waqar Younis, Younis Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq playing on the Tv screen. It was my dream to get a chance to play under them. Here’s my chance and I am making most of this opportunity to learn from them,” he mentioned.
“I worked with Saqlain Bhai. He motivated me a lot and asked me to continue the Quaid-e-Azam trophy performance,” he concluded.
